Some Heart Wrenching Stories

That was many years ago. Once Mahatma Gandhi was invited as the chief guest at a place in Porbandar. Mahatma Gandhi reached the stage and the program was about to begin. Mahatma Gandhi felt a terrible stench from afar. He asked the organizer, where is this smell coming from? He said, Harijan women are not coming for three-four days (the gutter sewerage was not started at that time). So the toilet stinks. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Come on, let’s clean the toilet first and then we will have a comfortable meeting, knowing that the whole community was stunned.

When the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was a student, one day he went to appear in the LLB final year examination. Answer any six out of ten questions that were written on the top of the exam paper. Babu Rajendra Prasad was a student of such sharp intellect that he wrote the answers to ten questions in the same three hours. Then in the title form at the beginning, please check the answers to any six questions.

Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam became the President of our country. Prior to that he was the advisor on nuclear affairs to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He served in NASA and was in charge of the Pokhran nuclear test. At that time, he inspected the Pokhran firing field wearing the clothes of a rural farmer so secretly that neither the state or the national intelligence of the country, the FBI intelligence agency of America did not even know and got the Pokhran nuclear explosion done. and became a missileman. He took India’s nuclear power to the heights.

Hon’ble Kalam’s presidential tenure was very good. He was so high-minded that he brought two briefcases of his personal belongings to the Rashtrapati Bhavan during the state and after the completion of his term, after the farewell of Rashtrapati Bhavan, he took only the same two briefcases with him.

Always Venerable Ramsukh Das Ji Maharaj spent the maximum time of his life in Haridwar. He toured many states including Rajasthan and gave discourses. From his discourses and the books published by him from Gorakhpur, there are thoughts filled with spiritual knowledge while living in family peace and household life. His specialty was that he did not allow anyone to touch his feet and did not allow himself to be worshiped. He would say, I am not a god, I am leading a sannyasin life like you. I also worship the Lord above and you should also worship the same. He never allowed his photo to be taken with the camera during the discourse or at any other time and only his name is published on the discourse through Doordarshan, not the photo. We are proud of how many high-ranking Mahatmas were in the Jangid society.

Dr. Samit Sharma was the Divisional Commissioner in IAS Jodhpur for about 5 months last year and by improving the entire administration system, the people of Jodhpur Division felt proud. After that he was transferred to the post of Jaipur Divisional Commissioner. While being the Director in the Health Department, he got the use of organic medicines which are very cheap. Also, in the last year of his tenure as a Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Ashok Gehlot got free medicines and daily tests in all the government hospitals, which was appreciated by the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. His parents accompanied him during his stay in Jodhpur. A journalist once asked, do you keep your parents with you? replied, no I do not keep parents with me. They accompany me to my posting place. What a wonderful answer Dr. Samit Sharma ji gave. I have heard this for the first time in my life.

Government officials of Jangid Society

If you consider the state of Rajasthan, you will see that there are very few first class officers of the Jangid society. The reason for this is that students who are sharp intellects are not able to get college education due to financial constraints, so according to their skills, most of the students get engaged in factories or furniture businesses. Some of the students, who got their college education and cracked the All India level examinations on their own, were able to get government jobs. So first of all I would like to congratulate them on their success.

When working, posting/transfer is mostly due to political interference. Apna Samaj has not yet been able to dominate the political level, so the officers of other mature political caste get posting/transfer as per their wish, in which the officers of our caste are put in the second line.

Some officers support one political party during their tenure, they have to face the trouble of transfer when the opposition government comes. I myself got transferred 16 times in Rajasthan State Electricity Board during my tenure of 38 years.

Some Jangid officers want us to have got a high post, so we should serve the public. With this approach, they try to inculcate discipline, honesty and service spirit in the officers/employees in their offices and subordinate officers’ offices so that the work of the public can be done without any hassle. This behavior is not acceptable to the lowly officers subordinate to them and they fill the ears of the leaders of the ruling party. Secondly, when the officers try to get the public’s work done at a fast pace, then the people give less attendance to the leaders of the ruling party, that is, they reduce their stature, then they make false complaints to the minister for their political supremacy. The minister gets him transferred, because of this, due to this the officers of our society get frustrated.

There is a Marwari proverb ‘Jedo baje biro, badi leje od’.

That is, it is beneficial to walk in the direction of the wind. Meaning The interests of whichever ruling party’s political party is in the government will also have to be taken care of, while protecting yourself.

The second point is that when the officers of our caste start doing the work of the public at their own level, the subordinate officers get away by saying that our boss has given this work, not us. Then the wrath of the leaders becomes the officer of our society and the transfer happens to him and not to the officers below. This is my experience and you serving officers should think in this direction and if they get the work done by subordinate officers, then your work will be lightened, and if there is a complaint from the minister or chief minister from above, then you will investigate and submit the correct report then that subordinate officer will be saved and your work will not be affected. This is just my suggestion, do it if you like it.

In the end, I thank the members of Jangid Panchayat of Barmer district of Rajasthan, the Bhamashahs there, for making Jangid hostels in the education area and taking care of the accommodation, food and coaching arrangements for the students in it. Due to this, 5-6 Indian service officers of Jangid society are serving the state/country and making their name proud and making Jangid society proud.

जांगिड़ समाज के सरकारी अफसर

Who, when, where, how, someone may meet you ?

A philosopher senior engineer told me ten years ago that you and I are walking on two wooden logs in the bottomless ocean of the world, like logs they meet while waving among the waves in the sea and when they get back together after parting, nobody knows.

In this context, I am presenting to you an incident that happened in my life. I was working in Vidyut Mandal Jaipur in the year 1970. One day I went with my junior engineer with my family jeep to plan the electrification of Phulera Panchayat Samiti. The first Phulera reached Jobner after seeing Sambhar area, it was almost evening. The junior engineer along with me expressed his desire to meet his relative Mathur Saheb, who was then a professor in Jobner Agricultural College, and we all reached his residence. When we left after the tea and breakfast, both the tires of the jeep got punctured. Then again reached Mathur Sahib’s house in another vehicle and after having dinner rested at his residence for the night. In course of time this incident was forgotten.

Just five days ago, in the colony near my residence in Jodhpur, after the death of Joshiji, who was the director of the Bikaner Agricultural University, there was a third condolence meeting. I also went to pay my respects to him. When I sat there, I asked the person sitting next to me, how do you know Joshi ji? He told me that I and Joshiji used to teach together in Bikaner Agricultural University. Then I looked at him carefully and realized that this gentleman had ever met me before. I asked him again hesitatingly – Are you the only Mathur sahib who taught in Jobner College in 1970? He said- Yes and by taking the name of my then junior engineer, the situation became clear that he is the same Mathur sahib whom I got a chance to meet again in 2015, i.e. after 45 years from the year 1970. Isn’t it surprising?

That’s why it is rightly said – I don’t know who, when, where can be found in this ocean of the world?

न जाने, कब, कौन, कहाँ मिल जाये ?

From a Worker to a Writer (Bodh Prasang)

If I ask you a question whether there is a maid who works in the house and does the work of cleaning the utensils. Can you think that she could ever become a famous writer? Your answer will be – no, but 33 year old Devi Haldar, who lives in Gurgaon (Hari), has been able to reach her goal by facing the biggest difficulties with her dedication, hard work and determination. Born in Murshidabad district of West Bengal, Devi Haldar was left behind by her mother in her childhood. The father did two more marriages and at the behest of Dimata, at the age of twelve and a half years, married a young man who was twice his age.

Maby Haldar was very fond of reading, but she was able to study till the seventh grade and she had a child at the age of 13. As soon as she got married, she became a mother. Time progressed and as soon as the third child was born, without informing the husband, he got his family planning done. Hence at the age of playing with children, the lady had to raise her own children and by any chance out of her own free will, she did something as simple as speaking, She had to face her husband’s kicks and abuses on the matter.

Once she had gone to worship at her childhood friend’s house, the husband came there and started abusing her by pulling her hair. She was so hurt by this humiliation that she did not return to her home again. From there she went straight to her maternal home and got her children called to her place. Baby Haldar clearly told her father that she would stand on her own feet there and teach the children. When the father insisted that she should go back, she took her three children and set out on an unknown path. With her sisters in Faridabad not being supportive, Devi Haldar worked as a maid in a house with children. After a few days she found work in another house.

There was very little work in that house. In this house, she was noticed by the owner, turning the books while moving them to their places. Knowing her interest in books, the owner gave permission to take the books and asked to write one page daily. He

Considering it as the work of her master, she started writing her experience on the paper.

Initially the language mistakes were messy sentences, but gradually his hand opened up, when a part was written, the owner sent it to the magazine named Interview for publication and got printed and the article received good response from the readers. Seeing her name in the magazine Haldar’s courage increased. From childhood till now, she started writing everything about her natural experience. Those experiences in “Aalo Aadhar (Light and Darkness)” written in Bengal are in front of free readers. This book has been translated into English, Hindi, Marathi and that author is now standing in the category of best selling books. The recognizable owner is Prabodh Kumar, grandson of the famous Premchand Munshi.

Debi Haldar is teaching by sending children to schools along with jobs and not spending her earning money on herself. Spending on the education of the girl child. The landlord has given her to live with his family on the upper floor. Baby Haldar is invited by various literary organizations to seminars and they honor her for getting the book released. Many magazines keep publishing her articles. She is interviewed on Doordarshan on International Women’s Day, but even after receiving so much respect, Baby Haldar has not stopped working in the house of her master and patron. Thank you baby haldar
