Unforgettable Sayings of Elders

The talk is of 1975, when I Raj. The State Electricity Board was working as Assistant Engineer in Chirawa. At that time Pilani town was also under Chirawa sub-division. The richest person of Pilani Shri Ghanshyam ji Birla was number one in the country. He established Birla Engineering College Pilani. Due to some technical glitches, the engineering college administration used to collect electricity bills at the old rate. But due to the new tariff, the entire bill was not deposited. Under the direction of higher officials, an arrears bill of about 76 lakh 15 years was sent to that college in 1975.

A week later Birlaji came from Delhi to Pilani and invited me for a meal at his residence on Sunday. I made an excuse for not coming to the messenger, but went on Birla ji’s request for the second time. You will be surprised that he didn’t utter a word about the arrears bill, I was surprised. One week Pilani met the Gaya chief trustee and he told that Birlaji had gone by saying that the local engineer made the bill on the instructions of higher officials. So don’t spoil your relationship with them. We will resolve the matter by talking to the Power Minister. Can such behavior be expected from the rich man of today?

Visit to Pilani in 1976, Supreme Court Judge Uthwalia Saheb as the chief guest in the college program was sponsored. He was given the status of a state guest by the government. On that day the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer and I met and welcomed him at the Rajasthan border in their protocol and later brought him to Pilani and stayed in the guest house. In another room nearby, the four of us were chatting. Mr. Superintendent of Police narrated a funny anecdote in such a way that we all started laughing out loud. After a while, a guest house worker came and told us all of us were called to his room by the honorable judge.

We were a bit constricted, but you would be surprised when Jan Saheb said you tell me the same thing that made you laugh. I am also a social animal like you and have left the Supreme Court chair in Delhi.

The third case is of Jalore district, where a wealthy person was a resident of the village where my posting/residence was. In 1976, Finance Minister Mr. Morarji Desai announced the closure of 1000 rupee notes for one day. I had a telephone call in that village and his accountant from Mumbai told me over the phone that please send Sethji to your home.

Call it important work. After half an hour, Seth talked to the bookkeeper and told that 75 lakh rupees is number two, what should I do with him? Sethji replied after thinking for two minutes, burn them. Now you can guess how much wealth that Seth had.

The same Seth was having tea with me in the village one day at the hotel. His uncle had a small shop in that village. Used to drive. They also went there to have tea. That Seth said Tauji will pay for today’s tea, what is my position in front of him?

Even after having so much money, I have not forgotten Seth even after so many years. His humility, respect for elders. Even after being such a big millionaire Seth, he still seemed to be attached to the ground. Blessed are the above three great people and their unforgettable words.

Perception episode -2

One day the great philosopher of China, Computius, was sitting in solitude and contemplating. Then the emperor of China passed from there. In his tune, Confucius did not pay any attention to the emperor. The emperor was very upset about this. He asked Confucius – Who are you? Confucius replied – I am the emperor. On his reply the emperor got angry and said that I am the emperor, look, I have an army, servants and money, I do not think you have any of these. Then how are you an emperor?

Confucius smiled after listening to the emperor and said – Look, the army is needed by those who have enemies, but I have no enemy, so I do not need the army, the servant – who is lazy and cannot do the work himself. I am lazy, not a slacker, so I don’t need a servant. Wealth and wealth are needed by those who are poor. I am not poor, I have a wealth of contentment.

So you yourself think who really is the emperor. you or me? The emperor was left with no words.

Perception episode – 3

A middle class family lived in a city. The father used to work as a helper in the collector’s office and the household was doing well with the salary. He had a son, their attention was towards his studies since childhood and wished that the son should be educated and made an engineer. For this, by reducing their extravagant expenses and to increase his income, the father went to a shop in the evening and took the work of keeping its accounts in his hands. Eventually the hard work of the parents and the courage of the child made the son an engineer.

The son got a job and the father married his son to the daughter of a family which was relatively wealthier than them.

And after a year of marriage, Mother died in a road accident and then only the son, the father and the daughter-in-law were left. The first two years went well, then there was a change in the behavior of the father-in-law. The daughter-in-law did not want her father-in-law to comment on her work and repeatedly instructed her to cover her head. The father-in-law wanted that if his companions of the same age came home, then the daughter-in-law should arrange tea and snacks for them, but the daughter-in-law found it disgusting. After the husband returned to the office, she used to complain every day while the father sat in the room in despair. The atmosphere of the house started getting worse day by day. Finally one day the son told the father that in the present situation in the house, you and your daughter-in-law are unhappy, so I am thinking of admitting you to the old age home, so that you may be happy with your age-mates there and we can live here in peace.

The father agreed and one day the son put his father’s luggage in the taxi and took his father along with him and left for the old age home. After some time, the father sitting in the taxi on the way started crying. The son said – father, why are you crying?  ” Father said- Son. I had admitted my father to this old age home 20 years ago, which I remembered today.”

The son stopped the taxi and asked the taxi driver to go back home. Father said – what happened son?

Son Replied- Dad, the mistake you made 20 years ago. I will not repeat that now. At home, everyone will live together this way or that.

Note:- The above context will be a guide for those women who have just become a mother-in-law and their mother-in-law has been harsh with them.

They were misbehaved and tortured by their Mother-in-laws so sometimes they have this belief that I should behave with my daughter-in-law in the same manner as I have been to.

The reality is that they can do better to change the wrong.

बोध प्रसंग – ३

“Sense Case”

An Agarwal family (a new couple) from Haryana had gone to Calcutta many years ago to do business. He started his business there. Simultaneously, a relative was also made a partner, who had initially promised to bear fifty percent participation in the business and had experience in the business set up by him. Initially, the newly married family put all the money that they brought from Haryana in the business, but the other partner kept on pretending to pay his share from time to time and did not hesitate to give the goods on credit to the buyers. As a result, the business losses started increasing day by day.

In this way, due to increasing losses in the business, the people whom the products were sold on credit, stopped payment and

The traders from whom the goods were bought on credit started pressurizing them to recover the dues.

One day their Participant (relative) leaving him in the middle like this, fled to his village and this Agarwal family alone was in terrible trouble. Eventually he decided that he could not live in Calcutta in this condition and had no choice but to commit suicide.

He explained to his wife that my business liabilities have increased a lot; those to whom I had sold the goods are reluctant to pay. So I cannot survive in these conditions, I want to die by consuming poison in the end.

You go back to Haryana comfortably

The wife said “I had promised to support you in every situation at the time of marriage, so I will also commit suicide with you.”

He tried to convince her a lot but she did not budge and finally both of them agreed to go out in the forest and end this life hustle by consuming poison.

Both left for the forest to die. On the way, Sethani said “Though death is certain today, in my brain I have got a new plan. I would like to share if you are interested.” He nodded to Yes.  She said that if after death they are reborn in a laborer family, what would he do? Sethji said – this is not in his hand. The wife said what if we leave this poison and go to start a new life as a laborer in Bihar. With this belief, they decided to leave Calcutta and go to Bihar and take care of themselves.

Going to a town in Bihar, husband and wife started wages with a shovel at a contractor’s place. Slowly the trust of the contractor became stronger day by day with them. Seeing the man’s educated life and honesty, the contractor offered him 20 percent share in the contracting business. Time passed and then again the same contractor got him a separate contract and made him rich. After a while, the couple again came to such a position that they gradually paid off the old liabilities of Calcutta and by handing over the business to the children, he himself established a Dharamshala by putting his share of profit in the Badrinath Dham and started spending his life there. of his wife

His wife’s patience and courage proved to be worthy of praise.
